Rainy days

We've had a couple cold, wet rainy days - so we've made the best of it with more indoor activities. Yesterday I introduced Tara to playdoh - and we spent a good hour stamping out pictures and making things, like a butterfly and a face.

Today, it was an in house day after school, since it rained steady the entire day and it's kind of cold (40's) - so I even turned the heater back on for the first time in a couple weeks. After school we laid in my bed and watched a video - Princess and the Frog (thanks Deb!). It was a second viewing - and still fun. Tara really enjoys the musical parts - yeah for good New Orleans style Jazz and Zydeco! Then it was a dinner of Mac and Cheese with a can of Salmon thrown in for extra protein. She ate it up. Here's a picture of our dining set up - yes, I am having a glass of wine tonight (at least I'm not actually drinking alone). Note the little speaker on the right hand side as we enjoyed Yo-Yo Ma as an accompaniment to our fine dining.

And what dinner isn't complete without pudding - one of Tara's favorites. I am also continually impressed with her ability to totally clean out the pudding container - Dad, you'll have to teach her how to get her tongue in their for the last little bits.

And finally - as I checked email - Tara went and got her 'computer' (a leftover toy from Sujan) and sat on her beanbag chair while we both 'worked'!
Still no news on the visa - expecting it this week but I have to say, the waiting is excruciating and the weather isn't helping!!
