Sorry for the absence!

Hi Everyone -
Sorry for the absence from the blog - it's been a transition weekend as we've moved into a new (and cheaper) home. We're staying in a cozy 1-bedroom guest space that's next to a colleague's house (Mark from TPO-Nepal). It'll save a bunch of $$, it's only a 5-minute walk to Tara's school, and it's got some great green grass for her to run around in. So - although it's smaller and has less of the fancy amenities, it made sense to move. The challenge right now is figuring out the internet thing. When Mark's internet is up, I can get the wireless clearly and without problem. But sometimes it goes down - so I will have to go today and get a plug in for my computer so I can get internet off the phone system when Mark's system is down. Need to stay connected to you all!!!

We seem to be in the coldest and grayest week of the year right now. At dinner last night my friend Bhava promised me that this will only last a week and then it will actually start getting warmer. But brrrr, I had to put tights under Tara's pants and multiple layers on her for school - since it's not heated out there!

Otherwise, things are moving along with us. We've got our routine down with breakfast and skype (usually), school, then an afternoon of play (either with other kids or else just with me), I try to get a nap in for her but that usually happens if we're running errands since she falls asleep with motion (i.e. in the car, on my back when walking). Dinner and then she's in bed usually by 7:30 or so. Last night was late since we went out to dinner with Bhava and family, she fell asleep at the table since we left there at 8, and she slept until 8 this morning! So, she should be all caught up now.

In terms of the investigation, the investigator spent the day at Tara's orphanage and was able to get lots of details of her time there, including many photos from when she was a baby and early toddler. For the investigation that's great - but also for me and Tara, to be able to have a record of her early days is so valuable. I'll leave you with a few of her early baby pictures.

Glad you're back online! The baby pictures are really cute--it's amazing how similar she looks now!
