I leave for Kathmandu in a week - actually less since I leave on Saturday night! I think I pretty much finished shopping - thanks Elizabeth for the quick review of basic medical cabinet needs for a 3-year old - the only thing still missing are the nail clippers.
I've washed all the clothes I've been given (thanks Holly) and bought at Target for Tara - she'll be stylish winter girl. Currently a bit stressed about the fact that it's cold at night but mid-60s to 70 during the day so I hope I have enough warm weather clothing for her! I have packed her suitcase - and even managed to squish in the pillow pet that Fernando bought for her. I also went a tiny bit crazy on the toys/gifts - though I tried really hard to only get small things.
I also packed a second bag with stuff I am bringing for one of the other families that has been stuck there since August (Debbie and I will stay with them for the first few nights), all my toiletries and liquids wrapped in zip locks, some snacks, the necessary coffee and plunger mug(!!) and a package of pull ups to get us started. This bag also has lots of little books (Amy please thank Alexander for sharing!!) and more toys/play things (gotta have the playdoh) and is filled to the max.
All that's left is my own suitcase. Since Debbie is coming with me, I'm packing 3 and she's packing 1 - so between us we should be set.
One more week of work and I'm out of here!!
